  1. What kind of things do you help with?: I provide practical support to help busy families, households and small businesses keep life running smoothly — from home organisation and day-to-day support to admin, logistics and project help.

  2. What areas do you cover?: I’m based in Harpenden and mainly support Harpenden and surrounding areas including: Redbourn, Southdown, Wheathampstead, St Albans and Kimpton. If you’re slightly further afield, still get in touch — if I can help, I will.

  3. What hours do you work?: I usually work Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm. Evening and weekend work can be arranged in advance where needed. This may include an additional charge, which will always be agreed upfront at the time of booking.

  4. Do you do one-off support as well as ongoing help? Yes. I support people with single projects and tasks, as well as ongoing or regular help.

  5. How much does it cost? :Pricing depends on the type of support you need and the time involved. We’ll talk everything through first so I fully understand what you need, then I’ll confirm the plan and a clear written estimate before anything starts. No surprises, no hidden costs. Please also refer to my Terms of Service.

  6. How soon can you help?: It depends on availability and the type of work, but I’ll always do my best to help as soon as I can.

  7. Are you insured and DBS checked? Yes. I’m fully insured and DBS checked, and I take privacy, discretion and trust extremely seriously.

  8. Will you need access to my home? For some jobs, yes — but we’ll always talk that through first so you feel completely comfortable. Everything is handled respectfully and professionally.

  9. Do you support businesses as well as families? Yes. I work with small business owners as well as busy households, offering practical support, admin help, logistics and project assistance.

  10. I know I need help, but I’m not quite sure what with — should I still get in touch? Absolutely. If life feels full, that’s often the best time to talk. We’ll chat it through and work out the best way I can help.

  11. What is your cancellation policy? Cancellations within 72 hours of the booking start time are chargeable at 50% of the agreed fee. Cancellations within 24 hours are chargeable in full. Everything is clearly explained in my Terms of Service.

  12. When do I pay?: You’ll receive an invoice after the work is completed. Payment is normally due within 7 days, and everything is confirmed clearly in writing so you always know where you stand.

  13. Will you take photos of my home or business?: Sometimes I capture simple before/after images or video footage for training or marketing, but never anything sensitive, identifying or personal. I never photograph children or anything that could identify them. If you’d prefer no photography at all, just let me know-  you can always opt out.

  14. What if I’m not happy with something?: If something isn’t right, please tell me as soon as possible and ideally within 24 hours so I can put it right. I want you to feel comfortable, supported and happy with the service.

  15. Do you ever hold keys or access codes?: Yes, where needed and agreed. Keys and access details are handled carefully and securely, and only ever used for the agreed purpose. We’ll always talk this through first so you feel completely comfortable.

  16. Do you charge for arranging third-party services (like tradespeople)? If I organise and manage third-party services on your behalf, there may sometimes be a small coordination fee to cover the time and administration involved. If this applies, it will always be discussed and agreed in advance.

Joe will confirm availability, agree the scope and pricing, and then secure your booking.

  18. Can Just Ask Joe assist with event planning and hosting support? Yes. Just Ask Joe can assist with event planning and hosting support, including preparation, coordination and practical help on the day. This can include organising logistics, setting up spaces and helping things run smoothly, without taking on catering or specialist event services.

  19. What services does Just Ask Joe offer for home and lifestyle assistance? Just Ask Joe offers home and lifestyle assistance through Family Support and Home Support services. This includes help with life admin, errands and pet support, as well as decluttering, organising spaces, preparing for house moves and home check-ins while you’re away.

  20. Does Just Ask Joe provide key holding and holiday check-in services? Yes. Just Ask Joe offers home check-ins while you’re away, providing reassurance that your home is secure. This can include scheduled visits, bringing in post and preparing the home for your return. Key holding is handled only where agreed in advance and as part of an active service booking.
